The Monastery Barracks and Monastery Catacombs are two important locations during Act I of Diablo 2: Resurrected. The quest ‘Tools of the Trade’ requires the player to visit the Monastery Barracks, while ‘Sisters to the Slaughter’ takes place in the Monastery Catacombs. Diablo 2 heavily focuses on exploration and doesn’t provide detailed maps – or even a map at all, for that matter – or quest guiders, meaning these locations can be tricky to find.
How to start Tools of the Trade and Sisters to the Slaughter in Diablo 2
In Diablo 2, Act I serves mostly as an introduction to both the story and some of the key characters that you’ll meet along the way. While not all of the quests are necessary to progress to Act II, it’s likely that you’ll be doing all six of them organically. This includes Search for Cain, which tasks you to find the Underground Passage, amidst others.
The fifth and sixth quests, called Tools of the Trade and Sisters to the Slaughter respectively, take place inside the same location. But while it sounds simple enough, getting to the Monastery can be tricky.
Where to Find the Monastery Catacombs in Diablo 2: Resurrected
To get to the Monastery Catacombs, you need to head to the Rogue Monastery. You should have been there already if you are trying to get to the catacombs and should have a waypoint to quickly travel there. If you didn’t activate it, no worries, you just need to head through the Underground Passage found in the Stony Field. Follow the passage until you reach the Dark Wood. Past through here and through the Black Marsh and The Tamoe Highlands. This will bring you to the Monastery Gate.
Enemies will be stronger here, so take your time and use potions wisely. At one point you will find an exit towards the exterior and out to an area called The Outer Cloister.
There isn’t much happening in this area, but it does have its own waypoint. Make sure to activate it so it’s added to the list, and take a break to return to the Rogue Encampment in case you need to resupply so you don’t waste a town scroll.
Activate the Waypoint and explore the area until you find The Cathedral. This is a huge dungeon that will lead to the Monastery Catacombs at the end. Make sure to fully explore the dungeon and activate its Waypoint before entering the Monastery. The Monastery is 4 levels long and has a Waypoint on Floor 2, which is absolutely crucial, as the boss at the end of the Monastery Catacombs will be the toughest enemy you’ve faced yet.
It’s easy for players to spend their valuable skill points early on only to discover during the halfway mark that they’ve created a terrible build for their character. Luckily, they’ll be able to offset that by having the right Diablo 2 Resurrected Items. Plus, there are tons of gear and weapons available for the Paladin, Druid, and other classes. 5mmo.com has around more than 11 years rich experience with Selling & Buying game goods in Global marketplace.
